The Role The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for providing consultative support to gain customer agreement on the business value they can realize through PTC’s solutions when applied to their digital transformation initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the account team and customers to understand their business needs, conduct value-based engagements, develop business transformation roadmaps, and demonstrate the economic benefits of PTC solutions. Your Team As a member of the Business Development Team, you will be part of a team of seasoned solution consultants whose mission is to support the creation of new sales pipeline by learning and understanding the customer’s business, to deliver customer value in digital transformation. The team delivers strong short- and long-term impact on the company’s business goals. This position has strong interaction with Sales, Presales, Customer Success and Marketing, as well as with global functions. Your Day-To-Day Customer Engagement – Lead customer value-centric engagements to align strategic priorities, analyze maturity, and develop digital transformation roadmaps. Engage with C-level and high-level executives at key accounts to drive digital transformation initiatives using PTC technology. Market and Product Knowledge – Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics. Maintain deep knowledge of the company's products, solutions, unique differentiators and their financial impact on customers. Share insights and best practices with the Sales and Presales teams. Sales Collaboration – Collaborate with account teams in pursuing new pipeline opportunities and defining account strategies. Develop and deliver tailored presentations and proposals. Assist in responding to complex digital transformation questions and objections from potential clients. Support sales teams’ closing efforts by providing experience-based recommendations and evidence-based financial justifications Trusted Advisor and Thought Leader – Provide expert business transformation guidance to customer executives based on deep industry, market, PTC and enterprise transformation knowledge and experience. Act as a thought leader for digital transformation in sales/marketing activities, conferences, seminars, industry events, etc. Business Case Development – Lead the creation of business cases by aligning with customers and implementation partners on target value areas and modeling financial benefits/ROI projections. Value Proposition and Roadmap – Develop and present compelling value propositions enabled by PTC solutions. Support ongoing value management and realization throughout the customer lifecycle by updating roadmaps and value propositions with the customer, PTC ecosystem, and partners. Create Materials – Develop, document and share materials for use by Business Development, Sales, Presales, and Customer Success teams in customer engagements. Collaborate with local and global PTC teams to ensure best practices, use cases, market information, etc. are shared and leveraged. Skills and knowledge most relevant to the job: Domain expertise in the manufacturing industry is a must. Domain expertise in one or more of these solution areas is an advantage: CAD, PLM, ALM, SLM. Demonstrated curiosity and capability to learn new domains, with emphasis on self-learning and ability to pull knowledge from various sources. Ability to think strategically and analytically, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Ability to conduct research and produce new materials for use with customers. Confidence in presenting ideas, solutions, and results in front of C-level executives. Ability to prepare, deliver and present value assessment engagements with customers: interviewing, writing, preparing analysis documents, delivering presentations to executives and managers. Experience in business analysis for systems implementation. Ideally, experience working at a foreign-based company, with good English proficiency. Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills Basic Qualifications Education: BA/BS Degree, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business. Languages: Native in Japanese or Korean, Working-level proficiency in English. Proficiency in MS-Office tools.
