SUMMARY

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for building and possessing deep knowledge of complex and specialized Bank data and ensuring the high quality, accurate, and timely delivery of information. The role requires the automation and maintenance of reports and dashboards, the identification and integration of multiple data sources, and the ability to drive solutions from concept through execution. Strong communications skills are required to partner with business leaders across the Bank. Beyond possessing foundational front-end BI skills, the Senior Business Intelligence Developer understands the context and purpose of information as well as the audience consuming the information. Further the Senior Business Intelligence Developer has advanced to taking ownership of assignments with minimal direction.
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will be part of the Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI) team within Information Technology. The BI team focuses on high impact issues that increase the organization’s overall performance. The BI team is responsible for data management, data governance, business reporting & dashboards, and data & opportunity analytics, which informs strategic and tactical decisions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in computer science or related discipline; or a minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years relevant experience within the banking industry.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Experience with data visualization suites (Power BI, Tableau) and major BI platforms (Business Objects).
  • Experience with Bank systems, data and financial products, especially FIS IBS.
  • Experience with Power BI, Python, R, VBA script.
  • Experience working with large databases.
  • Experience with Snowflake.
  • Operates with a large amount of independence and is known as a reliable and knowledgeable resource.
  • Excellent influencing and change management skills, capable of working at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office experience, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Able to work through issues, developing creative solutions and escalating when appropriate.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of the banking and financial services industry including federal laws and regulations
  • Willingness to gain new knowledge and technical skills.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet the production needs of the position.
  • Intermediate math skills: the ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze, and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, test, and deliver self-service infrastructure and BI content, including reports and dashboards, to business professionals using the SAP Business Objects, IBM Cognos toolset and Power BI.
  • Partner with business lines across the bank to establish reporting and data requirements.
  • Design and build data management solutions focused on data acquisition, data quality, data transformation, migration planning, schema structures, and master data management.
  • Provide hands-on design and implementation expertise around report development and data modeling across the organization.
  • Document and communicate processes and data structures to preserve institutional knowledge.
  • Ensure a high level of data integrity and work output with attention to detail, while meeting time sensitive goals.
  • Complete all internal Company training as assigned and required.
  • Adhere to the Company’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.
