JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Senior Business Partner to join our Digital & Service Design team within the Digital & Technology group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU or South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Our successful candidate will have:

  • Agile working skills - you know how to coach and lead teams of varying levels of maturity, in agile practices, determining the right approach and acting as a recognised expert and advocate
  • Experience and evidence of delivering in a fast-paced and demanding environment, organising and planning for multiple competing priorities
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working across boundaries and delegating where appropriate
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including influencing, communicating technical information to a non-technical audience, building relationships and developing collaborative working across different teams

WHAT’S THE ROLE?

Working within Digital and Technology Group, this is a high-profile Business Partner role working directly with Service Owners, stakeholders and subject matter experts, to understand and document business opportunities and requirements aligned with overall Agency strategy and divisional business needs.
The post holder will play a leading role and be the first point of contact for the group’s front door process to manage incoming demand. The role works alongside product managers, business analysts, user centred design practitioners, delivery managers, strategy and architecture practitioners and an in-house team of engineers, to assess and prioritise incoming digital and technology requests. You will play a key role in understanding the scale of new requirements and the level of support that may be needed. You will bring together the key representatives of DTG to ensure decisions are made in the round, focussed on ensuring priorities are properly assessed against agreed criteria and balancing known constraints with the needs of stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge and insight into the business and work to assess and analyse business opportunities, routinely aligning these with wider organisational objectives. You will need to understand business needs and how best these can be achieved, identifying and implementing opportunities to maximise change.
  • Influence decision-making and develop strategies, exploiting opportunities, identifying dependencies, and using your experience to avoid duplication and common issues.
  • Lead on demand management, supporting and advising internal stakeholders, assisting and facilitating throughout the governance process.
  • Lead on and contribute to the evolution and continuous improvement of the DTG front door process.
  • Keep abreast of the range of practices in Digital & Service Design Group, so as to reflect and articulate the views of the Heads of Practice in relation to new requests. Attend internal and external meetings and liaise with senior stakeholders within MHRA, including members of the Executive Team, representing the consolidated view of DTG.
