Business Risk Management (BRM) plays a critical role within the 1st Line of Defense (1LoD) in supporting the Region in managing and monitoring risk across the entire client lifecycle. BRM’s key responsibilities include risk-related advise to Front Management, support risk-related approvals, facilitate stakeholder collaboration (between the three lines of defense), deliver Regional and/or Market Risk Reporting and drive risk-related initiatives across the Bank. The role requires experience in understanding regulatory requirements, business needs, and risk management principles to drive informed decision-making and mitigate potential risks. Senior BRM is expected to act as a role model in terms of risk behaviour whilst delivering value for (internal) clients and working collaboratively across the Bank. YOUR CHALLENGE Supports the Front Office on risk-related tasks, such as performance of risk & control self-assessments, assessment and handling of operational risk incidents, ad hoc business risk and conduct reviews Collaborates with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense, Front Management, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and highest quality standards across the region Prepares and delivers Regional and/or Market Risk Reporting in collaboration with 2nd LoD teams to provide transparency and supervisory oversight through Regional and/or Market risk sessions and address regulatory and quality assurance concerns Drives risk awareness and training initiatives Provides risk-related support and advice for Regional and/or Market projects Monitors and supports remediation of risks, incidents, and control issues, ensuring timely and sustainable resolution of Front teams’ related gaps identified by 2LoD, internal/external audit, and regulators Coordinates with other BRMs and interacts with various internal stakeholders (e.g. compliance, legal, etc.), depending on the topic Leads and implements change initiatives to improve risk management processes and procedures, ensuring the team is adaptable to changing regulatory requirements and business needs Supports strategic decisions that balance business objectives with risk management requirements, considering multiple perspectives and potential consequences YOUR PROFILE Personal and social skills A natural team player with a proactive mindset and the ability to relate to colleagues from diverse backgrounds Proven communication and interpersonal skills to deal with employees and stakeholders on different management levels Always communicates in a competent and professional manner Systematic, precise and diligent working style and the ability to oversee complexity and perform under pressure Personal integrity and ethical behavior Professional and technical skills Banking apprenticeship and/or higher education At least 4 years of experience in a similar role in the Private Banking Business In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and practices across markets Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Fluent language skills (verbal and written) in English, German would be an asset Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment Independent, efficient, proactive and meticulous working style Proficient user in MS Office applications, Excel and PowerPoint skills We are looking forward to receiving your full job application through our online application tool.
