As a Senior Business Strategy Analyst in the Global Chief Underwriting Office - Chief of Staff Team, you will be responsible for leading work-streams critical for Underwriting process optimisation and data. You will collaborate with Underwriting leadership teams and senior stakeholders across other functions like Claims, Risk management, Data analytics and Operations to deep dive on specific Underwriting pain areas, assess value chain, identify potential solutions and support/ lead implementation of agreed actions.
To be successful in this role, you will have proven process improvement, project managements and communication skills. You will also have the ability to lead workshops or deep dive discussions with senior stakeholders, negotiate potential best possible solution and demonstrate business value with recommendations.
This will be a high visibility role in the organisation and will need good understanding of commercial P&C insurance concepts along with past experience of solving complex business problems through process optimisation (not IT solutions). Idea candidate could be from an Insurance company working in a similar role, or a consultant with experience of working with P&C insurance clients.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • A robust track record and experience working on business transformation and process improvement projects, analysing, designing and implementing sustainable change within the Insurance Sector.
  • An excellent track record in driving tangible results through structured process analysis and demonstrable knowledge of continuous improvement and B.A. methodologies e.g. PMI/Lean/Six Sigma. Proficient use of MS Project, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Able to translate and simplify complex business scenarios and collaborate across functions and stakeholders groups.
  • Proven experience in designing and facilitating results focused workshops while engaging front line staff and managers.
  • Understands and considers ‘business readiness’ as a core part of implementing successful change, considers the potential impact of change on people when developing and implementing solutions.
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to build robust relationships and collaborating at all levels.
  • Able to act independently; demonstrate excellent business acumen including consideration to the global and strategic aspects of a change.
  • Exposure of working within a highly regulated organisation, with an understanding of key risks and considerations
  • An imaginative, thoughtful approach to problem-solving, identify gaps and formulate a clear plan of execution to get there
  • Experience of working on large-scale projects spanning multiple locations, regions and countries with an appreciation of cultural diversities.
  • Any additional experience of business process management and technology enablers would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

You will be part of the Global Underwriting – Chief of Staff team supporting a wide range of Global and Regional projects/ initiatives.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Drive initiatives with a clear focus on problem statement, where we may not have sufficient clarity of the solution needed.
  • Document and analyze complex business processes and scenarios, identifying risks, strengths, and weaknesses, demonstrating the ability to solve problems and create efficient and effective operations.
  • Independently Lead and/or support concurrent, large-scale projects spanning multiple locations, regions and countries with an appreciation of cultural diversities.
  • Define best practices or standards for Underwriting processes in consultation with Underwriting governance & controls, business unit Underwriting and global Underwriting management.
  • Design and facilitate results focused workshops while engaging front line staff and managers.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and implement appropriate process metrics and benefits measures on initiatives.
  • Deliver rapid cycle change and improvements within strict timeframes whilst remaining focused on the longer-term improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and apply appropriate analysis, delivery and process improvement methodologies and techniques.
  • Produce concise and effective business presentations and deliver with clear expectations and outcomes.

You will report into the Head of Process Optimisation, Data and AI for Global Underwriting.
