We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This post will ensure that effective and efficient senior business support is delivered for the Professional Nurse Lead for Glasgow City HSCP. The post holder will be part of the North East Locality Secretarial Support Team and they will work independently for much of the time managing their daily workload and supporting the wider team if required. The post holder may be required to provide day to day supervision of staff within the service.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must show competence in the use of range of computer packages evidenced by experience or formal qualification e.g. ECDL
  • Recognised qualification in Administration equivalent to HNC in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration, or SVQ in Administration at Level 3, or significant relevant equivalent practical experience.
  • Conversant with office procedures and systems and able to demonstrate prior experience of working in a secretarial or administrative role. Such experience is unlikely to have been achieved in less than 3 years related secretarial/administrative experience at a more junior level through which a thorough understanding of office procedures has been obtained.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

  • Advanced keyboard skills.
  • Good command of verbal and written English.
  • Thorough knowledge of own department and organisation gained through prior experience within the organisation, induction, or period of orientation of not less than 4 weeks. There will be an on-going requirement to have a personal development plan agreed with the manager which will include participation in training and development.   • Organisational skills, including ability to deal with a range of non-routine tasks, apply problem solving skills and ability to manage conflicting demands.
  • Awareness of clinical terminology or a willingness to learn skills in this area.
  • Diary management for Professional Nurse Lead including arranging meetings, minute taking and co-ordination of agendas for meetings with staff across the HSCP at times for GGC
  • Enhanced understanding of excel to support data collection for services across the HSCP and ability to provide this for reports for the Health Visiting, School Nursing and Immunisation service when required
