We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our IT team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Solutions, you will be responsible for capturing business objectives and needs into high-level requirements, translating them into detailed solution requirements and specifications, and contributing significantly to the delivery team to ensure that solutions achieve their intended goals. In this role you will also collaborate with business and IT partners to drive projects from ideation to successful delivery.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that business needs are clearly and accurately identified.
  • Eliciting and documenting requirements and business needs from business and IT stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborating with software vendors and implementers to investigate and evaluate potential solution alternatives for objectives and requirements.
  • Leading and/or participating in the product selection process.
  • Mining data and/or legacy code to support analysis and validation and driving the correct solution decisions.
  • Performing various roles on projects as needed, which may include project lead, analysis lead, test lead and system trainer.
  • Producing deliverables such as project charters, functional and non-functional specifications, decision matrices, user stories, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, system context diagrams and/or data and interface mappings as appropriate to proposed solutions.
  • Utilizing strong leadership and communication skills to coach and mentor project team members and drive solutions.
  • Engaging with business partners and influencing project decisions; assessing the risks of various solutions and prioritizing competing business demands.
  • Assisting with business change management and training.

You have:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Applications Development, Project Management, and Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with supply chain, eCommerce fulfillment, grocery retail, and/or warehouse automation systems is an asset.
  • Broad IT domain experience in Applications Development, Project Management, and Quality Assurance.
  • Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases and user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • A solid understanding of technical concepts to effectively communicate with development teams such as familiarity with coding constructs.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data through tools such as SQL and Excel to uncover insights, trends, and patterns that inform decision-making.
  • Knowledge of process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN) to visually represent business processes.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA and Visio, or other requirements and project management tools.
  • An understanding of testing processes and methodologies to ensure solutions meet requirements.

Compensation Details:
$92,880.00 - $116,100.00
The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
