Description

Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Senior Buyer for one of our clients based in Falkirk.
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our client continues to meet its procurement needs with efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability at the forefront of every decision. You will be responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of goods and services for the organisation, with a particular focus on energy-related products and services.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in the energy, utilities, or engineering sectors.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. CIPS qualification is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies, sourcing, and market analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse cost structures and budgets.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the energy industry, including renewable energy, oil & gas, or utilities sectors.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices and the ability to integrate them into procurement decisions.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead the sourcing and procurement strategy for energy-related products, services, and materials.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the company’s needs are met while maintaining value and quality standards.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including cost, delivery schedules, and service levels. Draft and review contracts, ensuring compliance and risk management.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing.
  • Cost Optimisation: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies across the procurement function.
  • Risk Management: Manage supplier risks, ensuring that procurement activities are compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders such as engineering, operations, and finance teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies with company goals.
  • Sustainability: Incorporate sustainability and ethical considerations into the procurement process, aligning with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives.
