Tactical Talent Recruitment is currently recruiting a Buyer specializing in Sanitary Ware/Bathrooms, Tiles and Flooring. This is an exciting new role within the company’s buying department, offering the successful candidate the chance to shape and develop the category. Please note that this role would be based from one of the company’s offices, based in Kildare.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven Buying Experience: Previous experience as a buyer in the Sanitary Ware category is essential with outstanding technical knowledge. Experience in buying tiles and flooring is an advantage.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to deliver profitable results.
  • Market Knowledge: An expert understanding of the Bathrooms, Tiles and Flooring industries in Ireland, including trends, supplier networks, and customer demands.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to drive informed decision-making.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Self-Starter: A proactive and results-oriented individual who is comfortable working independently in a newly created role.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As the Category Buyer for Bathrooms, Tiles, and Flooring, you will take full ownership of product selection, supplier negotiations, and management of external stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in shaping the product offering across a wide range of Sanitary Ware products.
You will be buying directly from suppliers internationally and you will be comfortable negotiating at director level for high-value contracts.
In this key position, you will work closely with the head office team to ensure product availability, competitive pricing, and strong supplier relationships. You will also collaborate with suppliers to secure the best deals and identify new products and innovations that align with customer demand.
The role is mainly office-based Monday to Friday with a minimal amount of travel involved nationally. Possibility of remote working 1 day a week after probation period.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Category Management: Implement a category strategy for Sanitary Ware products, focusing on maximizing profitability and market share.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating best pricing and terms to ensure competitive advantages.
  • Product Selection: Identify, source, and select a wide range of Sanitary Ware products that meet customer needs while keeping up with market trends and innovations.
  • Stock Management: Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure optimal stock levels, availability, and distribution of products.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to understand trends, pricing strategies, and opportunities for category growth.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities to boost sales and visibility within the category.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on category goals and objectives.
