Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Buyer to join their procurement team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be instrumental in managing supply chain processes, ensuring the timely availability of essential components, and nurturing strong relationships with suppliers. Your expertise will be vital in supporting their commitment to operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supplier Management:
  • Identify and onboard strategic suppliers that align with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships and negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inventory Optimisation:
  • Manage inventory levels to effectively balance costs with production and customer demand.
  • Set targets for inventory, lead times, and safety stock to ensure efficient operations.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain robust processes for quality control and supplier audits.
  • Supply Chain Efficiency:
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Draft and manage purchase orders, quotations, and agreements in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Analyse engineering bills of materials and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Oversee supplier progress, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any delays.
