SUMMARY:

We are a manufacturer of electromechanical switches. Our products are used for a variety of applications such as aerospace, satellite communications, telecommunications and broadcasting. We are looking for a Senior Buyer preferably with a background in aerospace to join our growing team. In this role you will interpret engineering plans and specifications to create schedules, material lists, and production plans, making independent decisions to ensure on-time delivery and effective inventory management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4 + years of experience in production planning and purchasing, with aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in MRP/ERP systems, data entry, and report writing.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering plans and communicate with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of DEFARS/FARS specialty metals and AS9100 standards.
• Ability to read documents/screens, navigate office/stairs, sit/stand for long periods, type, and communicate effectively.

• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands.
• Utilize MRP system to release kits and ensure material availability.
• Analyze engineering change orders, update MRP data, and manage inventory impacts.
• Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and develop alternate suppliers.
• Prepare cost savings reports and ensure compliance with DEFARS/FARS and AS9100 standards.
• Mentor buyers and collaborate with engineering, sales, and production teams.
