ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

Our team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer for Johnson Controls’ diverse portfolio and in particular for industrial refrigeration. This role identifies, researches, evaluates, and selects suppliers that meet the organisation’s standards of price, quality, timing and reliability of supply. The incumbent will act as SME in procurement area and may coach junior buyers; and also provide leadership, operational, analytical and administrative support to the business to enable JCI to execute its strategy and meet commercial and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

Sets operational objectives and delivers results that have a direct to significant impact on achievement of results with the job area or within the context of a wider operational area.
Often uses influence to convince both internal/external parties that share a common desire to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches and infrequently negotiates with a common desire to reach agreement on complete proposals/programs.
Regularly Correct or resolve issues or problems in existing systems and processes. Makes necessary changes. Often Adapts or enhances quality or value in existing methods; make better as part of day-to-day activities.
Issue and manage RFQ process in line with JCI and its customer’s requirements, and identify, recommend best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements.
Review and evaluate RFQ responses for compliance with JCI requirements.
Negotiate and manage long term pricing agreements on critical Security System, HVAC, Refrigeration, BMS subcontract works,
Proactively engage with business to identify their needs.
Complete purchase requests with local and international suppliers expediting deliveries and verifying.
Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related issues.
Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.
Control and improve the traceability and transparency of purchasing related savings.
Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to: Cost Savings, TWC, quality, supplier rationalization, and other agreed objectives.
Own the vendor registration/onboarding process for required JCI entities, maintenance and periodic supplier performance evaluation and necessary follow up actions.
Handle correspondence concerning order discrepancies, delivery, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the involved parties in a timely manner as required.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional publications.
