Assists Purchasing Agent, Assistant Purchasing Agent and Contracts Manager with managing contracts and Processing Bids/RFPs/RFQs to include but not limited to; preparing specifications, tabulations, award recommendations, etc. with limited supervision. Expedites preparation and execution of agreements with the County Attorney, department and vendor(s). Evaluates Bid/RFP/RFQ responses and participates in the evaluation committee process. Issues, modifies, and processes requisitions into purchase orders. Meets with new vendors initiating new products and/or services to the County. Assists Purchasing Agent and Assistant Purchasing Agent, as requested. Assists buyers with procedural questions. Attends educational/training seminars/conferences to keep well-informed of Public Purchasing requirements. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: HS Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. 5 years job related experience. Strong computer, verbal and written communication, with math and accounting skills. Interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working Knowledge of Lawson/Information Financial System and the Onbase Electronic Content Management System preferred. Familiar with purchasing laws and statutes and federal requirements. Excellent Planning and organizational skills to manage work schedule and meet deadlines. STARTING SALARY RANGE: $32.26 - $40.33 hourly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE: Monday, December 1, 2025 at 5:00 pm All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
