Description POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for evaluating suppliers, quotations, and services to determine optimal sourcing solutions. Leads supplier selection, contract awards, and compliance monitoring. Manages ongoing supplier communications and ensures products and services are delivered on time, within cost, and in full compliance with quality, contractual, and customer requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Functions Coordinate end-to-end procurement planning and execution for assigned commodities and suppliers, from supplier qualification and approved requisitions through negotiation, purchase order placement, and delivery of production and MRO materials and services Ensure purchase orders meet contractual requirements and are delivered on schedule, at negotiated pricing, and in compliance with quality and documentation standards Solicit, evaluate, and award competitive supplier proposals for goods and services Define sourcing specifications including optimal order quantities, quality requirements, and budget impact Select, evaluate, and develop suppliers based on quality, performance, and strategic alignment to establish long-term partnerships Provide regular status updates and risk assessments to management and program teams Establish and maintain Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes to maximize supplier value and performance Negotiate contracts including pricing, terms and conditions, customer flow-downs, FAR/DFARS clauses, warranties, delivery requirements, and penalties for non-performance Lead supplier performance improvement initiatives by monitoring metrics, issuing corrective actions, and ensuring closure of performance gaps Utilize Master Production Schedules, inventory records, and item master data to support MRP-driven supply planning Apply lean and best-in-class supply chain practices to drive continuous improvement Understand product, commodity, and MRO life cycles and their impact on sourcing strategies and supplier management Maintain accurate supplier lead times and item master data Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Finance, and Operations Support critical business needs through schedule flexibility and travel as required Perform other duties as assigned Requirements EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field required APICS, ISM, Six Sigma, or other supply chain/procurement certifications preferred EXPERIENCE 8–10 years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems; SAP preferred Aerospace and Defense procurement experience, including support of DoD programs, strongly preferred Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR) Experience leading procurement-related Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives Experience supporting socio-economic (Small Business) procurement requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with cost and price analysis experience Advanced negotiation skills supporting long-term agreements and cost-reduction initiatives Risk assessment, mitigation, and supplier resiliency mindset Experience with Make/Buy analysis and strategic sourcing initiatives Comprehensive understanding of purchasing processes (supply agreements, blanket orders, supplier follow-up, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, MAPICS) Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven tools as applied to supply chain analytics, forecasting, supplier performance monitoring, and process automation Ability to leverage digital tools and emerging technologies to improve procurement efficiency, visibility, and decision-making Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Self-directed with the ability to work independently while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints POSITION SUPERVISES: No supervisory responsibilities CONTACT WITH OTHERS: The Position requires interaction with Suppliers, program managers, management and other requiring procurement services. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works majority of the day in a climate-controlled environment, except for or otherwise specified, performing work in the warehouse or manufacturing areas which are subject to changes in temperature and/or noise. TRAVEL: Limited travel required LOCATION: Gentex’s Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
