At Pomeroy Loding, we are dedicated to excellence in hospitality, construction, and operations. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team and support our procurement and purchasing functions across capital and construction projects.
Who You Are
You are a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a passion for procurement. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at sourcing, managing suppliers, and overseeing full-cycle procurement from new builds to renovations. You’re detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and enjoy collaborating with multiple teams to ensure seamless project execution.
What You’ll Do
Lead the end-to-end procurement process for capital and construction projects, from sourcing to final delivery.
Prepare and manage all Request for Proposals (RFPs) and tender tracking.
Work alongside interior designers and construction teams to facilitate plan distribution, change orders, and meeting documentation.
Assist in material takeoffs for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) and lighting.
Oversee FF&E purchases, including fabric orders, shipping logistics, and delivery schedules.
Serve as the primary contact for shipping companies and ensure accurate delivery timelines.
Track budgets through data entry, purchase order finalization, and document management (quotes, contracts, invoices).
Review and follow up on invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Negotiate contracts with key vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality service.
Source new vendors and suppliers for goods and services.
Assist in the creation of estimates and support the development of capital budgets.
Identify and resolve procurement challenges using strategic problem-solving skills.
Ensure that all assigned deliverables are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Represent and uphold the organization’s core values in all interactions.
What You Bring
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (required).
3+ years of senior management experience in hospitality procurement or a related field.
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in technology and procurement management systems.
SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) certification is preferred.
Experience with Avendra is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
Office-based role, Monday to Friday.
Fast-paced environment with high interaction across teams and stakeholders.
Regular use of technology applications to manage procurement functions.
