Position Overview The Buyer is responsible for assisting the Company’s sellers to facilitate the complete fulfillment of each customer’s component requirements, via sourcing, procuring, and sales support functions. Area(s) of Responsibility Manage opportunities presented by sales team Makes the best procurement decision for the Company Ability to place PO’s independently depending on value and GP% Vendor management Strategic trading (Suppliers/Brokers) Essential Functions Works requirements for sellers including vendor evaluations, datasheet lookup, technical support, BOM support, vendor negotiation and expediting Enters and modifies purchase orders and VRMAs Exceeds goals as set by management Prepares reports when requested Expedites and track open orders Assists accounting department by confirming terms, payment stipulations and credit Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Traits 2+ years purchasing/industry experience Computer literate Strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office Commodity expertise Familiar with complex ERP systems Experience in procurement of CPU, LCDs and Hard-disk Traits Is amazing Acts courageously Demonstrates mutual respect and trust Owns own outcomes Outstanding customer service skills Strong conflict management skills Outstanding presentation and business development skills Strong negotiation skills Problem solver Attention to detail; Organized Strong communication skills Flexible and Adaptable Ability to multitask Dependable and timely; ability to work independently; self-starter Friendly, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor Team player; ability to work in cross-functional environment Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure
