Job Description Role Purpose (Job Profile): To provide expertise and leadership to the business facilitating best value procurement time, cost and quality imperatives. Working as part of the Direct Procurement team, promote and implement high professional standards and interacting with multiple stakeholders within the business. Main Duties: Manage a portfolio of suppliers focusing on both tactical and strategic development. Expedite and progress deliveries from suppliers and maintain timely reporting of delivery status of parts outstanding, routinely feeding back status to internal stakeholders. Ensure that all aspects of transactional procurement of goods and services for category are achieved. Optimise total value being delivered to the race team on time and to the required quality standard. Support and motivate the Direct Procurement team to achieve department measures of performance. Support and develop continuous improvement initiatives within the team. Negotiate contracts with suppliers that provide best value to the business. Rationalise and develop supplier base to those that provide best value to the business. Provide procurement leadership to internal stakeholders, using experience and influencing skills where needed. Sell the value of the Procurement function to the wider business to drive realisation of commercial opportunities via greater engagement. Key Accountabilities: Fulfil all organisational expectations, including but not limited to the following: Understand and work in line with Williams Values & Behaviours, encouraging others to do the same. Ensure understanding of and compliance with health and safety obligations. Maintain personal high standards of behaviour and conduct, being a positive ambassador for the department. Ensure you adhere to brand rules and maintain high standards of department presentation. Work to quality standards and identify and contribute ways to continuously improve department and personal performance. Ensure understanding of cost cap rules and requirements. Core Competencies: Ability to establish relationships internally and externally at all levels. Ability to react quickly and prioritise immediate operational requirements. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills are essential. Ability to work using own initiative with high attention to detail. Flexible approach to working hours in line with fluctuating work requirements. Ability to read engineering drawings. Full UK driving licence. Qualifications and Experience Level: Proven procurement experience working within a fast-changing engineering environment. Composite procurement experience within a motorsport or automotive background (desirable but not essential). At least 5 years procurement experience supported by CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential).
