Description
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior CADD Technician for our Geotechnical and Tunneling group in our New York office! This Opportunity Provides CADD support to engineers and project managers for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines. Responsibilities involve generating 2D/3D plans on various assigned projects of moderate- to larger-scale, scope, and/or complexity. Generates accurate and concise deliverables including reports, plans, models, sections, and details. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality. Your Impact Collect, compile, and analyze data from the surveys, roadway concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications, technical drawings, rough sketches, diagrams, and other matrices to support drafting activities for single, multi-phase, or multi-site project work. Ensure that design deliverables meet rigorous standards for quality, safety, and innovation; review and validate technical outputs from team members. Coordinate closely with engineers to integrate cross-disciplinary input and deliver cohesive solutions. Champion the use of advanced digital tools, such as BIM, GIS, and automated design platforms, to streamline workflows and enhance design visualization. Provide guidance, training, and support to junior designers and interns, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing. Participate in meetings, presentations, and workshops to understand project needs and communicate design solutions effectively. Conduct quality checks and oversee adherence to regulatory and industry standards, as well as firm-specific best practices. Address design challenges proactively, leveraging technical expertise to develop practical solutions and manage project risks. Prepare and oversee production of drawings, specifications, and technical reports for submission to clients and regulatory agencies. Competence in explaining complex technical topics to diverse audiences. Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions. Ability to deliver precise, high-quality work within tight deadlines. Who You Are Required Qualifications High School Diploma. Minimum of 9 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior drafting support experience. Well-defined knowledge of drafting support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques. Defined ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of geometry and mathematical concepts, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate standards or regulations. Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions. Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience. Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies. Highly proficient with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred. Compensation: Expected Compensation (all locations): $42.22/hr - $61.51/hr WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
