As Senior Capital Portfolio Consultant, you will lead service-specific strategy work, focusing on capital infrastructure investment management and service capital portfolio stewardship. You will be responsible for creating the overall strategy for how a service or portfolio prioritizes capital, building the service’s capital budget and plan, establishing approved drivers and criteria, and managing the resulting capital portfolio through the Stage Gate process. You and your team will evaluate potential investments based on service capital prioritization criteria and recommend investment options. Primary duties include:

  • Provide leadership, career development, supervision, and performance management to direct reports, while leading the cultural transformation of capital investment practices.
  • Lead the development of the Capital Investment Portfolio(s) through Corporate wide engagement, creating a prioritized and sequenced capital infrastructure investment plan and budget.
  • Engage with Service Teams, Subject Matter Experts, Committees and various levels of management to define customer and business priorities and identify capital investment solutions.
  • Monitor financial/reputational risk by proactively managing the capital portfolio and adjusting plans/budgets to maximize the available capital budget.
  • Administer the stage gate process and committee meetings in compliance with the corporate stage gate Standard, ensuring the management of documentation and communication of committee decisions to affected Project Managers or Owners.
  • Lead the development of 10-year capital investment plans for assigned portfolios.
  • Work with services to respond to corporate initiatives such as adjustments or budget saving exercises.
  • Monitor capital performance to proactively identify trends and recommend solutions/risk mitigation measures and facilitate informed decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, or a related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills required to create clear and compelling policies and plans through papers, presentations, and key messages.
  • Business and political acumen are essential to understand policy development in the context of corporate priorities and change initiatives.
