We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will play a key role in implementing care plans and supervising junior staff, while fostering a warm and supportive environment for our senior residents.

Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE LOOK LIKE?

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained in accordance with person-centred Care Plans, Risk Assessments
  • Ensure service users’ care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual, are met. Providing supervision and attention when needed
  • Review Care Plans
  • Report on the well-being of Service Users and liaise with GPS, Healthcare Professionals and Managers
  • Ensure service users’ privacy, respect and dignity are maintained at all times
  • Dispense medication, and ensure correct recording of all relevant information relating to medication (after satisfactory completion of the Safe Handling of Medicines course).
  • Ensure all holistic assessments are carried out when Service Users are admitted to the Abacus Care Home.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
