COTON HOUSE – SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT

Coton House, a 24 bedded residential home specialising in the delivery of high-quality care for older people and those living with dementia, is now looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role – administering medication, care planning and leading the team.
  • They will be enthusiastic and passionate about delivering high quality care.
  • Have strong initiative and leadership skills to manage their workload and oversea the team.
  • Completed or be working towards a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • Fully flexible to work 20 hours each week according to the Rota including weekends – shift pattern 07:45 to 20:45.

Duties will include:

  • Promote and encourage the individuality, independence, self-respect and dignity of residents.
  • Encourage and assist residents to participate in decisions concerning planning of their care.
  • Ensure all care given is based upon the individual care assessment for each resident and that the care plan is administered to the highest standard.
  • Maintain accurate and informative daily records for all residents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care plans, reviewing them regularly with particular regard to the emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs of the resident.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with residents’ relatives, as well as with outside organisations and professional colleagues.
  • Undertake general observation and accurate reporting, both verbal and written, of residents’ physical, emotional, social progress or deterioration
  • Involvement, where appropriate, in resident reviews
  • Ensure the safe storage, documentation and administration of medication is carried out in accordance with current guidelines and training.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health and Safety regulations by completing risk assessments where appropriate.
  • Inform promptly the manager of any serious illness, accident or defect within the premises and complete the appropriate records.
  • Attend and keep up to date with all mandatory trainings, including supervisions, appraisals and team meetings.
