JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to elderly residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and staff. This role involves supervising care plans, ensuring the well-being of residents, and fostering a supportive environment that promotes dignity and respect.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of care plans and the specific needs of elderly individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents and their families.
  • Leadership qualities with experience in supervising or mentoring staff members.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents as required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
  • Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Supervise junior staff members, offering guidance and support to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to address any concerns or changes in health status.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any incidents that occur within the care home.
  • Drive residents to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transportation.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
