La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the stunning Somerset countryside. This innovative, purpose-built home provides specialist Dementia and Nursing care for up to 76 residents.
We are looking for a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to play a key role in leading our care team. In this role, you will ensure our residents receive the highest standard of care while creating a warm and supportive environment. You will coordinate shifts, lead by example, and be responsible for the performance of your team during each shift, helping us maintain a caring, efficient, and positive atmosphere throughout the home.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking individuals with at least NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, with Level 3 preferred or in progress. Practical Medication Administration competencies are required. You will be confident in leading and motivating a team, delegating tasks effectively while maintaining a supportive environment. A kind, compassionate, and person-centred approach, combined with a sense of fun and commitment to high-quality care, is essential.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead and support the care team to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive atmosphere within the home. You will assist residents with their daily routines, including dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility, always prioritising dignity and independence. You will oversee medication administration, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
