Field Care Supervisor - Care Setting - Erdington
Within Nationwide Care Services the Field Care Supervisor position is one of ensuring that our Service Users are receiving the care and support they expect and deserve.
The role of requires successful individuals to be able to demonstrate a hands on, supportive, professional approach to ensuring that only the highest care standards are being adhered to and delivered across our customer base.
As an Ambassador for care and the Nationwide Care Services brand, you’ll be supervising, supporting and guiding a team of carers on a daily basis to ensure that they are carrying out the requirements of our service users as expected and in line with rostering requirements.
This role will require that you are focussed on methods of ensuring quality of care, you will be expected to ensure that our care staff are engaging with our service users in an appropriate and timely manner based upon agreed care planning and risk management requirements, this is a key role within an environment that’s busy and fluid and you will need to be prepared to address staff who are failing to meet the required standards address whilst also guiding them to improve before reviewing them again to ensure improvements are being demonstrated in practice. You’ll need to have previous demonstrable experience of providing personal care, working for a home care agency and mentoring or (spot checking) care staff. You’ll also need a UK driver’s licence, be over the age of 18 and have access to a vehicle.
As part of this role you will be key to helping us ensure that our staff and service users alike feel safe; valued and supported, this will be achieved through a structured and strategic approach to diary management whilst also ensuring that you are flexible in your approach to when you are in the local community.

Responsibilities

Ø To meet weekly Compliance targets agreed with the Compliance Manager, Branch Managers and produce a weekly log of compliance activity
Ø To ensure that Nationwide Care Services Policies and Procedures are implemented and adhered to.
Ø To ensure that thorough monitoring visits have been completed and that all possible steps are taken to prevent accidents and minimise hazards in the work place through ensuring good practice at all times by our staff in the field.
Ø To promote the Company’s services, fostering good public relations and develop a partnership approach between service users and other professionals
Ø Understand and follow hazard and reporting procedures
Ø Help us to build effective and positive working practices and relationships
Ø To represent the company in a professional manner, and to understand and focus on the company’s vision.
Ø To deliver a positive first impression, successful interpersonal relations and a lasting reputation. The key elements of professionalism includes time management, effective communication, enthusiasm, assignment delivery and appropriate attire.
Ø To be fully conversant with the relevant Statutory Regulations and other Legislation surrounding the Care Sector, including that of (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulations
Ø To maintain Confidentiality at all times
Ø Responsible for ensuring that all care workers within a set geographical area receive at least one monitoring visit per month (more where concerns or improvements are required) Supervising and Managing the Care and Support workers, ensuring they are adhering to Nationwide Care Services high standards
Ø Build and Maintain a close working relationship with your Management and Care Co-ordinators to plan the service delivery monitoring visits effectively
Ø Liaise with Trainers and Quality Assurance Managers where improvements are required to our policies, processes or training.
Ø To lead and participate in regular internal and external meetings
Ø To be able to work flexibly in the community which will include evening and weekend monitoring visits to be scheduled so that staff understand monitoring can take place at any time during operational hours. You will have a high degree of diary autonomy in this regard.
Ø Complete one to one discussions with Care Workers to discuss any concerns, log concerns and address, ensure corrective actions.
Ø Ensure that you use our electronic bespoke system to log in and out of every call you attend and that all of your administrative work is kept up to date and on our systems. This will also ensure automatic calculation of your mileage
Ø Maintaining close relationships with both the Service User and the Care Worker is fundamental to the Organisation
Ø Professionally liaise with Family, Next of Kin, GP’s, Social Workers, Local Authority Commissioners, Care Quality Commission and other Health Professionals at all times (MDT)
Ø Shadow and mentor new staff from induction and throughout their employment
Ø To support Care Workers in their role through providing ad-hoc training and guidance at the service users home where necessary
Ø To ensure that service users receive the necessary support, in a way that is culturally and ethnically sensitive and reflects the service users’ needs in relation to their age, gender, sexuality, social class, disability and / or religious belief
Ø To take responsibility to maintain professional knowledge and competences
Ø To always apply best practice and report any/all suspicion of abuse of any kind/ promote a culture which is professional & positive at all times.
