OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents and sisters in our small and friendly 12 bed care home which is set within an Anglican Religious Community. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our elderly and frail sisters and residents. This role involves supervising junior staff, developing care plans, and ensuring that all residents receive personalised care and support.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a senior care or similar role is essential, with a level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • Supervising experience is highly desirable, showcasing leadership capabilities within a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with residents and their families.
  • Familiarity with developing care plans that address individual needs is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and communication is beneficial.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each resident.
  • Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their health status.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home.
  • Escort residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
