JOB SUMMARY

Senior Healthcare Assistant Woodfield Court, 21 Temple Road, Stowmarket, IP14 1AT 35 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for Senior Care Assistant who will be expected to participate as a member of the care team to plan, lead, monitor and deliver high quality care to residents in line with their individual care plans. You will be expected to provide holistic care for our elderly residents, assisting them with their daily activities and identifying and assisting them with their individual needs and preferences. You will be expected to communicate effectively, promote privacy, dignity, choice, independence and individual rights and also participate in protecting our vulnerable residents from any harm or abuse.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Right to work in the UK

Previous experience in a care home environment or in working with the elderly (desirable but not essential)
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care are desirable (not essential)
Good communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Applicants must have a desire to care for others and be compassionate and flexible

Pay: £16.58-£17.97 per hour

Responsibilities

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO):

  • Work within a team in a care home environment for the elderly Support residents with all daily activities in accordance with their individual care plans,
  • Promote resident independence and respect their dignity and choices at all times, Work on a flexible, rotational basis according to the rota set by the Home Manager and the needs of the home which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Receive and take part in regular supervision and training to develop own skills,
  • Assist in maintaining care records that reflect current needs and preferences for each resident Work in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for administrating medication to the residents in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Take part in updating and writing care plans and resident documentation.
  • Take an active professional role in promoting the services offered when dealing with relatives, prospective residents and enquiries.
  • On a daily basis liaise with Health Professionals
