OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the well-being and comfort of individuals in a care home setting. Your leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in supervising junior staff and implementing care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a drive to motivate and inspire others.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with IT systems used in care settings is advantageous.
  • A compassionate approach to caring for elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure high standards of care.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents’ progress and any changes in their condition, utilising IT systems as required.
  • Foster a warm and welcoming environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence for all residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns promptly.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss resident care strategies and share best practices.
