As a Senior Catastrophe Modeler in the Catastrophe & Exposure Management department of Everest Insurance (a member of Everest Group, Ltd.), you’ll play a critical role in assessing catastrophe risk to guide underwriting decisions for our Commercial Property insurance business. You’ll work alongside a team of highly trained modelers, supporting Everest’s diversified and profitable growth goals. What You’ll Do: Provide catastrophe risk assessments to underwriters Review broker and client data for quality (data cleansing) Augment data to improve exposure insights Use catastrophe models and analytical tools to deliver timely risk evaluations, identify key risk drivers, and suggest mitigation strategies Research and present new insights and methods to better understand the portfolio Enhance data capture, analysis, and reporting capabilities Improve automation tools and build new integrations across systems Develop and maintain tools using programming languages Support senior leaders in evaluating new CAT market opportunities, technologies, insurance programs, and modeling tools What You Bring: 5+ years of experience in P&C insurance or reinsurance, with a focus on catastrophe modeling Strong programming skills—fluent in SQL and experienced in Python, C#, or similar languages Proven track record of full-cycle development for automating data flows and workflows Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and senior leadership Strong problem-solving mindset, with a logical and forward-thinking approach to decision-making Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, finance, economics, business, or computer science The base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $173,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
