ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY…
We are seeking a Catchment Scientist or Senior Catchment Scientist to work on a range of exciting projects in the UK and abroad. The role is part of Arup’s multi-disciplinary Climate and Sustainability Services (CSS) group, which has a focus on delivering enhanced environmental conditions and resilience in the face of the interconnected climate and biodiversity crises.
Our vibrant Water and Environment team in CSS plays a crucial role on projects by applying expertise in restoring catchment processes and ecosystems and delivering multiple benefits for the environment and society. We work at all scales from internationally important projects for government clients, to large nationally important Development Consent Order (DCO) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects, and on important local schemes that improve the water environment and benefit communities.
We deploy cutting edge digital technology in our projects where we can and strive to continue to develop in this area. Our workload is diverse, and we deliver services for various different clients and sectors. Example types of project work include Geomorphological Assessment and River and Wetland Restoration, Flood Risk Assessment (FRA), Natural Flood Management (NFM), Water Framework Directive (WFD) assessment, Water Chapters for EIA, and Nature-based Solutions schemes in river basins and in coastal areas.
The role will provide opportunities to undertake site visits and work outdoors where required.
