Description

Together, we’re working to welcome millions more passengers, while ensuring aviation can continue to be a force for good by leading global efforts in sustainability. At Heathrow, you can be part of this – providing solutions that make every journey better for millions each year. That means ensuring we meet the changing needs of the passengers, colleagues and partners who use our airport to work, travel, trade, shop, eat, explore and connect. Our Solutions team covers project management, process improvement, business change, technology, cyber defence, masterplanning, infrastructure and procurement. It brings together people with the skills to deliver prestigious and often large-scale projects, from transforming terminals to making big reductions in our carbon emissions.
Every day will test your skills and give you the opportunity to make your mark. You might be working with the technology and data that power our city within a city, driving vital commercial agreements with everyone from retailers to airlines, or improving the unique infrastructure that includes everything from 200 buildings to 250 HV substations. It’s a collaborative environment, where you can rely on the support of the experts around you as you take on projects you’ll both take pride in and feel passionate about.
Join us in a critical role where you’ll manage the procurement of goods and services to support our operations, specifically our Engineering teams. Your work will involve sourcing, implementing, and overseeing contracts, as well as creating and executing procurement strategies that maximize value, minimize risk, and enhance the overall operations of the airport.
You’ll develop and deliver procurement activities, including pre-contract strategies, and conduct market research to ensure the best practices are followed. Working closely with stakeholders, continually assess the market, manage ongoing contracts, and collaborate with the Supplier Management team to provide valuable market and supplier intelligence.

Additionally, you’ll work with colleagues in the wider Operational Procurement team to devise sourcing strategies for common spend categories. Whilst partnering with suppliers and Heathrow teams to monitor progress and report on continuous improvement initiatives and performance measures.

  • Developing new innovative strategies using creative commercial models, market leading technology and trends that will drive competitive edge for the business.
  • Running robust sourcing activity including valid evaluation criteria and methods which stand to external scrutiny, have been consulted with legal and meet the obligations required by competition law so Heathrow is a fair procurer of goods and services.
  • Administering and abiding by a robust contract management process that maximises commercial opportunity and mitigates risk for each relevant endeavour.
  • Collaborating, influencing and championing close stakeholder relationships to drive governance through the SRM process. Proactively engage teams, peers, leaders, and stakeholders across the business to align to both procurement strategy and governance for delivery of business objectives.
  • Encourage innovation amongst the team to ensure that the focus is on adding value, not simply adherence to process.
  • Experience working in a Procurement role with a category responsibility for Operational or Engineering categories or a procurement role within the aviation sector
  • Able to demonstrate strong Supplier Relationship Management skills
  • Demonstrable experience in a variety of Procurement and Contracting models including, but not limited to NEC, Framework, Work Packages
  • Evidence of delivering Projects to meet business affordability targets
  • Adept at running tendering processes

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • CIPS qualification
