Description DEPARTMENT: Community Programs ACCOUNTABILITY: Community Programs director STATUS: Exempt, Full-time - Onsite schedule JOB SUMMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management of all senior services, programs and activities, supervision of staff and volunteers at senior center. Essential Functions All responsibilities may not be required of all incumbents. Coordination of programs: Congregate Meals Home Delivered Meals Homemaker Transportation Information and Assistance Outreach Nutrition Education Community Education Access to other community services and programs Supervise Senior Center staff, volunteers, clients and provide training as needed. Assign duties as appropriate and necessary to staff and volunteers. Maintain all required records, reports, and documents, client files, personnel files, activities and productivity reports, documents for the purpose of monitoring compliance, client status reports, time reports etc. Assure timely completion and delivery of reports to appropriate sources Responsible for completion and accuracy of Area Plan. Attend meetings, training workshops and conferences as required. Implement policies and procedures for personnel, senior center programs and clients. Maintain working relationship with County Management Staff and County Commissioners. Attend Commission meetings and reporting activities and productivity to Board. Market Senior Center programs to effectively ensure maximum potential. Coordinate and oversee meal ordering, petty cash, general maintenance of building and equipment. Address fund raising issues -includes negotiating local share contributions, soliciting donations from community businesses, churches, clubs and organizations, applying for grants. Complete staff evaluations as required. Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor’s degree or two years of related experience or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Skills: Must be computer literate Possess decision making and management skills Oral and written communication skills Interpersonal and problem solving skills Public relations skills Organizational skills Licensure and Certification Valid State Driver’s License PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS The physical and mental demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully preform the essential functions of this job.
