About this Position The Senior Center Program Assistant (part-time) is responsible for facilitating and overseeing daily programs and activities of the Senior Center, among other duties. Due to the nature of the duties, this position requires computer and telephone communication skills to talk with people of all ages. Schedules may vary according to the work as indicated by the recreation programs, but this role usually requires 15 to 20 hours per week. The Senior Center Program Assistant (part-time) may be needed to staff the office during staff vacations and brief absences. Responsibilities * Oversee the daily operation of the choir, exercise classes, dance classes, etc. * Assist with programs and activities during business hours, evenings, and weekends * Assist with tracking attendance for scheduled events and activities * Receive and respond to telephone calls * Answer questions regarding Senior Center programs * Conduct tours and explain policies and procedures * Collaborate with the manager to plan programs/events * Oversee production and printing of the calendar * Operate and oversee use of equipment and software * Assist with recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers Qualifications * High school diploma or GED equivalent * 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training * Or equivalent combination of education and experience  * Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier Necessary Skills * Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends * Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position * Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings Benefits * A tangible impact to the Edmond Senior Center [https://www.edmondok.gov/411/Senior-Center] and residents in the City of Edmond * A dynamic and inclusive environment where your contributions are valued   APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED.  THIS JOB OPPORTUNITY MAY BE RE-PUBLISHED AS NEEDED.
