About us Southern Cross Health Insurance is shaping a healthier Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is simple: empowering our members to live well for longer. We're here to give peace of mind through timely access to quality care, inspire healthier living, and lead positive change across the health system. As a New Zealand-owned, member-based organisation, we're building a future where wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do -- delivering exceptional value for our members and creating an environment where our people thrive. Now is an exciting time to join us. You'll be part of a high-performing, values-driven team where people are at the heart of everything we do -- and in return for your talent, you'll have the opportunity to grow, make an impact, and be proud of the difference your work makes. About the role This Senior Change Manager role is a pivotal change leadership position, supporting the launch of an exciting new proposition that will help our members feel more connected, supported, and empowered to live healthier lives. You’ll lead an integrated change approach to take this proposition to market, aligned with SCHI’s strategic priorities, leadership expectations, and agile ways of working. Working across the organisation and with external partners, you’ll build understanding, momentum, and commitment in a high-profile, fast-moving environment. As a trusted adviser, you’ll partner with senior leaders to deliver disciplined, people-centred change that is well planned, sequenced, and sustained. We’re looking for an experienced change practitioner who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership for outcomes, and brings the energy and judgement to move people from intent to action. Why this role matters By building momentum internally and externally with our members and partners, you’ll help turn ambition into commercial reality, aligning people, partners and leaders behind what’s next. Your ability to move confidently through complexity will play a key role in realising value, managing risk and ensuring this investment delivers meaningful outcomes. What you will do Lead the end-to-end change strategy for a complex, enterprise-scale transformational initiative. Partner with senior leaders, value stream leads and delivery teams to shape the change approach early, ensuring people impacts, risks and readiness are actively managed alongside delivery. Translate strategic intent into clear, practical change plans that support adoption, behaviour change and sustained outcomes. Design and deliver engagement, communication and enablement activities that are consistent, plain-language and grounded in what people need to do differently. Facilitate structured conversations and workshops that build shared understanding, alignment and ownership across teams. Track progress and outcomes using meaningful measures, adjusting approach based on insight, feedback and impact. What you will bring Significant experience leading complex change, ideally linked to new propositions or significant organisational shifts A people-centred approach, with the ability to build trust, engagement and momentum across a wide range of stakeholders Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior leaders, with credibility grounded in experience, insight and sound judgement. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate strategy and complexity into clear, practical messages. A disciplined yet flexible approach to change, balancing structure with adaptability in fast-moving environments. A proactive mindset with a balance of empathy and accountability – you take ownership with a clear focus on outcomes and apply sound judgement in commercially sensitive contexts Ngākau nui.
