THIS POST IS A FULL TIME POST OF 37 HOURS PER WEEK OVER 5 DAYS. WEEKEND WORK IS NOT ROUTINE BUT MAY BE REQUIRED ON OCCASION. A NURSING DEGREE QUALIFICATION AND NMC REGISTRATION ARE BOTH ESSENTIAL REQUIREMEN
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde for a Senior Charge Nurse to lead and manage the South Glasgow Dermatology Outpatient Departments. This post is based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but also covers the departments in Gartnavel General Hospital and the New Victoria Hospital. A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience is required, preferably with Outpatient experience at Band 6. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive with excellent communication skills. Proven management and leadership skills are essential. The post covers a variety of general clinics, specialist clinics and nurse led clinics. You will demonstrate the ability to influence and facilitate change to ensure the provision of high quality services which meet the needs of patients, embracing ideas for service change and adapting and incorporating these where this will enhance access and provision of services and care.
This post along with our part time Senior Charge Nurse will lead the team in providing safe and effective treatment of patients through agreed policies, protocols and pathways and ensure staff training and competence.
