The shift pattern for this post is Monday -Sunday may be required to work unscheduled shift pattern in line with theatres.Main theatres RAH are excited to announce a vacancy for a SCN within the main theatre suite for the CEPOD theatre.This is a very exciting opportunity to join a well established theatre team , which currently consists of 9 SCN colleagues overseeing the surgical specialties, anaesthetics and recovery within the department.
The successful candidate will be ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, be able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development and have at least 2 years experience within a charge nurse role within a theatre environment. Previous experience working within a CEPOD/Unscheduled care Theatre would be advantageous.
The main theatre department RAH consists of 9 theatres which undertake an array of surgical procedures daily both for elective and emergency/trauma cases. One CEPOD theatre which operates on a 24/7 basis Mon-Sun.
Along with a 12 bedded recovery area, reception suite and also a service carried out twice weekly at the QEUH for colorectal robotic surgery.
Candidates will have an extensive perioperative theatre background, highly motivated and able to dem,onstrate continued professional development.
Once in post the Theatre Senior Charge Nurse will support the teams within their remit, as well as working alongsied the lead nurse and Designated Theatre coordinator to ensure a high level of patient centred care is delivered daily to those patient groups who access our services.
The postholder will at times be asked to attend meetings to delegate for the Lead Nurse in her absence.

The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 7 day week. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and in order to achieve the needs of the service.
