SENIOR CHEF DE PARTIE

£34,005 per annum
Permanent, Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week
Downing College is seeking a Senior Chef de Partie to join its friendly team of chefs who prepare a range of high quality food, including fine dining, to the College community and commercial guests. Based in a stunning environment in central Cambridge, Downing also has a thriving conference business and provides customers with a choice of superior conference, meeting and theatre facilities. The Catering team supports this business as well as serving lunch and dinner for up to 400 Fellows, staff and students each day.

You will be expected to ensure the highest possible standards of food preparation and will need to bring:

• Relevant experience, gained in a busy commercial environment
• Experience in menu and recipe development, costing and implementation
• Experience supervising a large kitchen with multi-outlets and fine dining
• Excellent understanding of allergen management and labelling
• Excellent culinary skills
• An ability to manage multiple functions food delivery
• Enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work tasks

Hours of work include a mix of shifts over a seven day rota. Staff are expected to take some of their holidays during the Christmas closure which extends into the New Year.
