EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience in an environmental analytical laboratory
• Knowledge of ISO and UKAS accreditation systems is desirable
• Experience with ICP-OES/MS, Blu-Vision or GC-MS
• Experience with laboratory information management systems

SKILLS:

• Good laboratory and documentation practices
• Ability to manage samples from analysis to reporting
• Ability to work independently
• Method development and validation
• Liaise with clients and answer queries using good customer interaction skills

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting sample analysis to a high standard in order to generate reliable and timely results. As a Senior Chemist, you will play a key role in the laboratory environment, utilizing your expertise to troubleshoot problems and answer client queries.

DUTIES:

• Perform sample analysis using ICP-OES, Blu-Vision, probe and other inorganic techniques
• Perform quality control/standards tests to ensure testing and machinery are producing accurate results
• Utilize laboratory information management systems to record results accurately
• Stay up to date with new and relevant technology or methodologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to results and testing
