Job Description PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES Responsible to ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with the ISO 17025, SAMM policy, laboratory’s QA/QC system and SGS GCSC requirement. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES To ensure timeliness and accuracy to meet turnaround time and that the daily test result is produced accurately and precisely. Ensure that the information from the clients is kept as strictly confidential and never revealed to the third party. Ensure compliance to testing and QA/QC procedures. Ensure all analytical equipment, apparatus etc are to be appropriately maintained and calibrated as per the required schedule. Ensure root-cause of all non-conformities or customer complaints are to be investigated and identified with appropriate corrective and preventive actions. To treat Proficiency Testing Programme or Round Robin seriously and make sure the result obtained is most accurate and precise. To train, supervise and monitor lab technician with assigned test methods and procedures. To ensure all the standard methods are up to date or the latest version. To ensure all controlled quality procedures, test methods and document are kept confidentially and restricted within SGS premise. Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory. Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by uphold a good safety behavior and exercising necessary standard and process when carry out your responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance to the HSE requirements. Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management. Qualifications PROFILE Bachelor degree in Chemistry, or any science related field from recognized university / college. Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in relevant analytical laboratory and skillful in GC / ICP will be advantage. Good personality, independent and a good team player. REQUIRED SKILLS Able to understand the required test standard/procedures. Good communication and written skills in English and/or local language. Computer literate. Responsibilities
