SOME OF YOUR ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Provide technical leadership including reviewing and approving experimental designs, methods and results and mentoring junior chemists and lab technicians in best practices and technical skills.
- Provide analytical expertise and troubleshooting support to internal departments and prepare clear and concise technical reports, summaries, and presentations for internal use.
- Act as a connector between technical teams, by bringing together chemists, analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders to collaborate on innovation projects.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or methodologies that are aligned with the strategic direction and foster a continuous improvement mindset.
- Follow the organization’s HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions, to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others
ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field (e.g., Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or other)
- Demonstrated laboratory experience with a proven track record of expertise in analytical techniques, method development, validation, troubleshooting and implementation.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring chemists or technical staff in a daily laboratory operations environment.
- Experience in NATA accredited laboratory or exposure to GMP or GLMP practices would be advantageous although not a fundamental requirement.
- The role requires close contact with raw wastewater. Immunisation (e.g. Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus) may be required in accordance with Urban Utilities’ immunisation policy.
- This role is based at our SAS Lab in Darra, and you are expected to work their full time. There is free staff parking or street parking available.
