Role: Senior Childcare Practitioner
Salary: £25,000 per annum (£21,349 pro-rata)
Location: Caerau, Maesteg, Bridgend
Contract/Hours: Permanent – Full-time, Term Time - 37 hours per week

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Senior Childcare Practitioner with experience of working with children who may have additional and complex needs, to help us continue to deliver an excellent service in our Blaenllynfi Flying Start playgroup located in Maesteg, Bridgend.
This non-teaching role provides high quality childcare provision for children aged 2 to 3 years and this is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join us.

The successful candidates will lead the team in the playroom to provide a safe, stimulating play environment, support and facilitate children’s development and where necessary, contribute to the safeguarding of children. You responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Childcare Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the playroom, in line with regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Leading and encouraging the team to create a warm, welcoming and caring atmosphere that supports the development of children’s self-esteem, sense of identity and belonging.
  • Working closely with parents to develop an inclusive and open relationship that engages them in their children’s learning and development.
  • Working as part of a team to assess children’s development needs and implement appropriate support plans.
  • Ensuring that the service is complying with Safeguarding policies and procedure
