Role description: Our Urban Development team is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. In this role you will contribute to the successful delivery of civil engineering projects, from feasibility and concept design to detailed design. Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key part in ensuring technical excellence and project success. You'll help us deliver projects across a range of sectors from major residential, industrial and commercial land/urban development projects to health, education and infrastructure. Role accountabilities: Focusing on providing technical advice, direction, and overview of the day-to-day delivery of urban development engineering designs, as well as meeting agreed budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets Managing selected designs and teams to develop and implement the highest level of technical delivery through effective review process while exceeding client expectations Building effective and enduring relationships with our other teams and technical disciplines, and external organisations to foster co-operation and maximise our technical offering to ensure the integrity and quality of the overall design Managing subconsultants, quality assurance, client feedback and ensure effective communication of any changes/modifications Championing the involvement and inclusion of our interstate and overseas teams by ensuring a seamless part of our service offering Technical quality assurance and report writing To build and consolidate networks within the industry. Qualifications & Experience: First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life and want to be part of city-shaping projects and providing the best solutions to our clients. You are a tertiary qualified engineer with extensive experience in urban development design and come to us with: Relevant degree (Civil Engineering preferred) recognised by a relevant Industry Association or Institute - Chartered professional status, or equivalent and a post graduate qualification will be highly regarded Extensive industry experience (minimum seven years) including overseeing the engineering aspects of a project, application of standards and technical knowledge within the NSW urban development market Ability to provide technical expertise and direction through consultative support and effective communication to the teams Ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop large to medium scale, diverse project teams Experience of working in multi-discipline teams and/or project teams on major complex projects across a range of market sectors Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally.
