Job Description Due to continued growth across our Transportation business, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer – Rail to join our Sydney team. This is an opportunity to work alongside some of Australia's leading rail professionals while contributing to complex and high-profile rail projects across NSW and ANZ. As a Senior Civil Engineer within our Rail team, you will play a key role in delivering rail track and civil infrastructure projects across a range of major transport programs. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while providing technical leadership and mentoring to developing engineers. How you’ll make a difference Delivering rail track design solutions across feasibility, concept, detailed design and construction support phases Undertaking and reviewing track alignment, rail geometry, formation and drainage design Coordinating with signalling, systems, overhead wiring, structures, geotechnical and civil teams to deliver integrated project outcomes Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior and developing engineers Managing project deliverables, budgets and programme requirements Supporting design assurance, safety in design and quality management processes Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders Contributing to proposals, bids and business development activities across the rail sector Qualifications The qualities that help you thrive The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Approximately 10+ years' experience in rail track engineering within a consulting, contractor or client environment Demonstrated experience delivering rail infrastructure projects in Australia Strong understanding of rail track design principles including alignment, geometry, formation and drainage Experience working to Sydney Trains, Transport for NSW, ARTC or other Australian rail authority standards Proficiency in OpenRail, 12d, Civil 3D or similar rail design software Experience coordinating multidisciplinary rail projects and stakeholders Strong communication, collaboration and client engagement skills Chartered Engineer status or progress towards Chartership will be highly regarded Additional Information Why you’ll love working with us Flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, part-time, job-sharing and hybrid work options Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year Volunteer and representation leave Flex public holidays – swap Easter or other holidays for ones that suit you better Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
