Description Toole Design is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Pittsburgh, PA. We’re seeking someone ready to lead transportation projects, take ownership, and guide project delivery in line with our mission and values. What You’ll Do As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll lead transportation projects from concept through construction, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality, multimodal solutions. You’ll play a key role in guiding design, mentoring staff, and ensuring projects move forward efficiently and effectively. Requirements Pennsylvania Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within six months 10+ years of complex civil/transportation project management experience Proven leadership of multi-discipline infrastructure design and construction teams Strong networks and relationships in the Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania transportation market, including existing clients with the DOT, municipalities, and other consulting firms Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads Bonus: PennDOT project delivery experience, including ECMS Bonus: Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary projects (utilities, ROW, lighting, signals, landscape/hardscape) Bonus: Design and project management experience in multimodal and roadway projects, including presentations and pursuit interviews Bonus: Business development experience, including networking at industry and agency events (e.g., ASHE, ASCE, ITE)

Responsibilities

Lead multimodal transportation projects from concept through construction while guiding civil design teams on safety and capital improvements. Manage client communications, mentor junior staff, and support business development efforts across Pennsylvania.
