JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Civil Engineering Technical Lead is a leadership engineering position responsible for providing technical guidance and support with design aspects including drafting and design, development/design of single and multi-family residential, commercial, site/land development, including roadway design, drainage, grading, and storm water design, infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, or related.
Effectively leads a team of staff engineers and designers to ensure all aspects of a project are completed on time and within budget. This management position has the responsibility of managing, mentoring, and growing the engineering design team as well as successfully managing the execution and completion of engineering project phases.
Operating in a supervisory capacity, leading workload distribution to the team, and performing quality control measures to ensure the highest standards for all work is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • P.E. License - Colorado (current)
  • 6-10 years of experience in single & multi-family residential, commercial, site/land development including, roadway design, grading, and storm water design, water resources, infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, or related area of practice
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Identify relevant topics and conduct group and individual training sessions
  • Develop cost-effective design layouts based on construction specifications and requirements
  • Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures, maintaining compliance
  • Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements
  • Determine construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs
  • Review project plan and determine the design feasibilities and constraints
  • Use latest software and technologies to develop effective designs; AutoCad Civil 3D 2024
  • Recognize opportunities to coach staff on improving processes & increasing efficiency
  • Identify occasions and work with the team to improve engineering discernment
  • Consider health, safety and environmental requirements when developing civil designs
  • Manage team design projects so they are delivered within allotted timelines and budgets
  • Direct or perform design changes and improvements according to changing project demands
  • Stay abreast with latest developments within civil design fields, and maintain compliance
  • Be eager and skilled at communicating effectively and professionally with all team members
