Mineral Resources has a great opportunity available for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Construction team working on a Project in the Pilbara region of WA on a 2/1 FIFO roster from Perth.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary Degree Qualification in Civil Engineering.
• 5 + years of post graduate experience as a Senior Project Engineer on Civils and or Bulk Earthworks construction working with Tier 1 Contractors.
• Experienced with budgets and construction metrics.
• Strong written, verbal communication and team membership skills.
• Demonstrate a positive “can-do” attitude.
• Desire to implement and follow through on multiple challenges and projects to achieve productive results.
• Previous experience in with a Construction Contractor is essential.
• High adept with Microsoft Office Packages and Civil & Structural design packages.
• Demonstrated skills in managing project controls and schedules.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external clients.
• Proven ability to maintain good relationships with both clients, suppliers and the project team.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Diverse project experience from the design phase through to commissioning.

The Senior Civil Project Engineer is responsible for managing the effective Engineering, Planning, Quality, Survey, Cost Control and Scheduling functions for the project. The Senior Project Engineer will be site based and report to the Construction Manager. Key role with overall responsibility for engineering deliverables for the Bulk Earthworks/Civil scope.

In this position you will:

• Possess a strong understanding of Earthworks and Civil projects in the resources sector
• Engage and oversee third party consultants who may be engaged on large scale projects or as required for specialised design.
• Coordinate, review and approve civil calculations, modelling, design reports and construction drawings.
• Have excellent sub-contractor management skills
• Demonstrate high level of organisation, motivation, self-reliance and team player attributes.
• Embrace and lead in Safe delivery of works.
• Work with the site-based team and other site based stakeholders to support project execution and delivery.
• Monitor and review progress, manning levels and productivity analysis including budget and costs.
• Manage and mentor site engineering team.
• Strong technical understanding of design specifications, construction techniques, programming, and planning focussing on schedule critical deliverable and milestones.
• Develop, review, and implement mass haul strategies.
• Interpret Geotechnical documents and implement strategies for efficient material use.
• High level of awareness and delivery of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management.
• Proficient in various computing software (Microsoft Excel and Project. Expert Estimate & AutoCAD Synchro/E7 experience desirable).
• Problem Solving and Resourcefulness.
