With offices on the East Coast and projects across Australia, they are now seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major civil construction projects in Melbourne. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of 8-10 years of project management experience in civil construction, with a focus on bulk earthworks or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management are required, and professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent would be preferred.
- Previous international experience in the UK or Ireland is desirable, along with the ability to adapt to Australian construction practices.
- Strong leadership abilities are essential, as you will be managing large teams and collaborating with various stakeholders.
- You should have in-depth technical knowledge of civil construction processes, industry standards, and local regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills are necessary to address challenges during the project lifecycle, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are key to effectively engaging with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing civil construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- You will lead and coordinate teams including site engineers, subcontractors, and operational staff to ensure efficient execution and teamwork.
- You will also manage project budgets, track costs, and allocate resources to ensure the successful delivery of each project.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders will be crucial, as you work to address any project concerns and ensure smooth communication throughout the process.
- You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks, implementing proactive solutions to prevent delays and disruptions.
- You will also manage contracts and negotiate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines, and you will provide regular updates to senior management on the project’s progress, budgets, and timelines.
