Description:

Job Introduction We are looking for an experienced clerk to join our integrated barristers chambers, 8DB, to work alongside the current clerking team. The purpose of the role is to ensure that a high quality service is provided to all clients and to ensure a high standard of support is provided for all our Barristers and Advocates.

The preferred locations for the position are Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester but we welcome applications from candidates nationwide. Given our firms’ flexible working policy location will not be a restricting factor to applications. Experienced clerks will be able to work fully remote. What’s in it for you?

  • Managing the busy court diary.
  • Supervising other clerks in the team.
  • Dealing with all email enquiries and allocating the work to the appropriate team member.
  • Ensuring that all hearings/paperwork have fees agreed where appropriate.
  • Reviewing the diary regularly to check whether there is capacity that could be filled by other bookings which may have earlier been declined.
  • Working in a team efficiently and accurately to ensure that all the bookings are allocated in a timely manner.
  • Taking telephone enquiries from clients and colleagues.

WHO YOU ARE

The years you have been working in the profession are not as important as the experience that you have gained along the way or the character that you possess.
We would like someone with at least 3-5 years’ experience of clerking and who enjoys working within a team environment, working for common goals.
