Job Description Remote | Managed Care | Inpatient Coding You could be the one who helps improve care for 28 million members. Centene is continuing to invest in strong clinical coding quality, education, and audit programs — and this role sits right at the center of that work. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on inpatient coding audits, training, and clinical education within a managed care environment. This position is primarily remote. Candidates must be willing to travel to New York twice per year. What You’ll Do Develop, maintain, and execute complex inpatient coding audit processes and tools Conduct inpatient coding audits and review medical necessity against established guidelines Design and deliver clinical coding education and training programs for new and existing staff Identify training gaps and recommend targeted education solutions Partner with staff to resolve audit findings and improve coding accuracy Present audit results, trends, and recommendations to leadership Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve programs Maintain training records and employee progress documentation Support updates to policies, procedures, and workflows related to inpatient coding Participate in limited travel as required Qualifications What You Bring Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, active state nursing license Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or related clinical field with equivalent experience) 4+ years of experience in nursing, training, or auditing within a managed care healthcare setting Inpatient coding audit experience Current, valid coding certification: CPC, CIC, or CCS At least 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital (inpatient) setting Strong written English communication skills Nice-to-Have Experience in a lead, trainer, or supervisory capacity Background in developing training materials or audit tools Additional Information Role Details Position Type: New Relocation: Not available Sponsorship: Not available Bonus: Eligible for 8% performance bonus Travel: Limited (approximately twice per year to New York) Compensation $68,700 – $123,700 annually, based on experience, skills, and education Plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, PTO, holidays, and flexible work arrangements.
