Come and join #TeamEDs Senior Clinical Fellow We are seeking candidates who are ST4+ level - in Emergency Medicine.
In this post you will have clinical duties, however, an integral part of the post will be the supervision and teaching of training grade doctors on the shop floor. You will work across both hospital sites, gaining experience in working in a Major Trauma Centre and tertiary centre for many hospital specialities and will be exposed to a variety of Emergency Medicine presentations.

Most of your time will be spent on clinical duties; however, an integral part of the post will be the supervision and teaching of training grade doctors on the shop floor. In addition, you will be expected to take part in the formal teaching and on-going audit programs within the directorate as well as a full range of management duties commensurate with this role. In detail the duties will include: -

  • Provision of primary medical care to patients suffering recent injuries and acute medical and surgical conditions of sudden onset
  • Assist consultant staff in maintaining staffing levels including covering short term sickness
  • T imely review of patient’s results and investigations when returned to the department
  • Close liaison with nursing staff to ensure patient care is maintained and all trust policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • To be aware of the contents of the Trust Major Incident Plan and be able to carry out the relevant roles as determined by the Plan.
  • Provision of advice to members of the general public who contact the department by telephone or in person.
