Chelsea & Westminster’s Robotic Gynaecology programme is a vanguard programme for benign robotic gynaecological surgery. It is used as a reference site across Europe and beyond for how a NHS hospital high-efficiency robotic total practice programme should deliver for both patients and the public purse.
We are a BSGE Endometriosis Centre and the NHS Endometriosis tertiary referral hub for the North West London sector. This makes us one of the largest single centres for endometriosis care in the UK.
The Endometriosis and MAS fellow will undertake the 3 rd tier of our three tier on-call rota. Outside of this, they will join our minimally invasive group and become a core member of the team. We train, teach, work and play together. The fellow will be responsible end-to-end for the care of patients in the endometriosis pathway in concert with the rest of the fellows and consultants. Our established fellow training commences with inculturation in the team, the programme and operating room set up. Within four months we expect the fellow to have completed our technical training and simulation programme, and be undertaking console-surgeon work.
In addition to their clinical role the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in the organisation and coordination of the multiple minimal access training courses run within the department. They will perform this role in close collaboration with existing faculty. Prior experience in medical education and training provision is strongly desired as well as an open and enthusiastic personality to bring the best out of delegates as well as working with medical industry to provide support. Surgical videos (laparoscopic, robotic and open) play a large role in existing training.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England’s top-performing and safest trusts. We operate two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—along with award-winning clinics across North West London.
Our nearly 7,500 staff care for a diverse population of 1.5 million, providing full clinical services, including maternity, A&E, and children’s services, plus specialist HIV and sexual health clinics. The Care Quality Commission rates us ‘Good’ in safety, effectiveness, care, and responsiveness, and ’Outstanding’ in leadership and resource use.
We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.
We are committed to equal opportunities and believe that diversity drives innovation and excellence. As part of our dedication to equity, we actively welcome applications from individuals from the global majority, veterans and underrepresented communities. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that diverse teams bring and are committed to creating an environment where all voices are heard, respected, and empowered to succeed.”
If you haven’t heard from us within three weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.
